Betting and Gaming Licensing (Gambling Act 2005)

The Gambling Act 2005 has been in force since 1 September 2007.

The Licensing Authority accepts applications for new Premises Licences under the Gambling Act.

We published a Gambling Licensing Policy on 2 January 2007. This includes a no casino resolution.

Statement of Gambling Policy Review

The Gambling Act 2005 requires Oxford City Council, as the Licensing Authority, to  carry out a formal review, consultation and re-publication of its Statement of Gambling Policy every three years. The changes made to the Policy are as a result of new Government Guidance and in consultation with other local authorities within Oxfordshire.
