Volunteering
Are you looking to help with protecting and promoting Oxford's rich heritage?
We rely greatly on the support of volunteers to help with the day-to-day running of the Museum of Oxford. Volunteers contribute to the Museum and Town Hall in different ways.
The roles available include:
- Stewarding at exhibitions and events
- Visitor engagement roles at family events
- Education based work supporting visiting schools, community staff and learning staff
- Creation and dismantling of exhibitions
- Archiving and cataloguing
- Assisting in the new shop
The Museum also offers back-of-house placements to a small number of volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and interests.
We will be looking for lots more volunteers to help out when the new museum galleries reopen in June 2012.
The new roles available will include Heritage Information Assistants. See the role description below for more information:

Community Groups
Are you part of a group or know of one who would like to get involved with the Museum of Oxford?
We are looking to make links with local groups to carry out a number of exciting community based projects. This offer is open to all community groups based within the city regardless of age, background or ability.
Ever fancied creating a short film or soundtrack? How about designing a historic garden? Perhaps you might like to create your own exhibition or maybe you have an idea for a project you would like to do.
If so please contact the Community Engagement Officer, Neil Stevenson on 01865 252118.
