| Decide if the development needs planning permission | Applicants (usually the landowner or planning agent) work out if they need planning permission for their proposed development. We are happy to offer advice on this. |

| Seek advice before making an application | We are happy to talk to applicants about their proposal regarding what might or might not be acceptable. It is advisable to do this before making a planning application but it is not necessary. | |

| Officers consider the application |
The application will be considered against the policies within the Local Plan, Core Strategy and other Local Development Framework documents. | |
