Oxford Work Club

A new monthly Work Club opened on Wednesday 7 December 2011 at Oxford City Council's Customer Service Centre.

The launch of the Oxford Work Club saw over 50 clients attend, many of those benefiting from one to one support and advice on CV's and job search techniques.

The Club runs on the first Wednesday of each month from St Aldate's Customer Service Centre, St Aldate's Chambers, St Aldate's, Oxford, OX1 1DS from 10am to 4pm.

The new Oxford Work Club, part of the National Work Club's Network, is being run in partnership by Oxford City Council, Guru Manyo Granth Sikh Centre and Jobcentre Plus.

It supports the Get Britain Working initiative by helping jobseekers in their search for work by providing:

• advice on preparing and updating CVs
• advice on application forms
• interview techniques and mock interview practice sessions
• information on local vacancies
• internet access to search for vacancies
• opportunities to access local training
• advice on benefits
• general support to help find employment.
