- Removing any laminate flooring (or other type of floor covering you have put down) before repair work starts. You will also have to reinstall it after work is done.
Advice
- If we have to replace floor tiles, we cannot guarantee a colour or pattern match.
- If stair treads or risers on a shared staircase are loose, broken or rotten, contact us immediately. Also, please try to cordon it off to prevent anyone tripping.
We need to know
- What is the problem, for example: floorboards or skirting board loose, rotten or damaged; floor tiles or sheeting lifting or damaged; stair tread or riser loose, squeaky, broken or rotten; balustrade or handrail loose or broken?
- If floorboards, which room are they in? What area is affected? What are the floorboards made of: timber or chipboard? Is there a carpet?
- If floor tiles or sheeting, which room is it in? Did you lay it yourself? If tiles,
how many are affected and are they plastic or stone? Do you know what is causing the problem?
- If a stair tread or riser, is it a shared staircase? How many treads or risers are affected? What type of nosing does it have: wooden, rubber or metal? Is there a carpet on the stairs?
- If a balustrade, is it made up of spindles, panels or rails? How many are loose or broken? Is the handrail broken?
- If a handrail, is it part of a balustrade? Are any handrail brackets loose or broken? Is it the only handrail?
