Your responsibilities
- Trying to clear leaves and rubbish from gullies before calling us.
Advice
- We may need to put up scaffolding for certain repairs to gutters.
- In bad weather conditions, our operational staff cannot work at height, for example, on ladders, on scaffolding or on the roof.
- Please be aware that some types of gutters and downpipes may be made with materials containing asbestos. These are not dangerous if they are sealed, in good condition and are left undisturbed. Contact us if you have any concerns and read our leaflet on asbestos.

We need to know
- What is the problem, eg: gutter or downpipe loose, leaking or blocked; rainwater gully blocked or smelling; rainwater gully grid broken or missing?
- If a gutter or downpipe, which gutter or downpipe is it? How high is the building? Is it more than two storeys high?
- Which parts are affected, for example, bracket, stop end, hopperhead?
- What shape is the guttering or pipe: half-round, square or ogee?
- What is it made of: plastic, metal or concrete? What colour is it?
- Is any part likely to fall? If it has fallen, is it broken?
- If a rainwater gully grid is broken or missing, where is the gully? What is the grid made of: metal or plastic? Is it round or square? What type of surround does the gully have: brick or concrete?
- Does the repair problem also affect a neighbour? What is their address? Do you know whether it is an Oxford City Homes property?
